About Us
Oniipa is a young town with an innumerable history and legacy. Oniipa was proclaimed as a town on 30 April 2015. Prior to that, Oniipa was a settlement area known as Onethindi-Oniipa Settlement Area since January 2014.
Oniipa is home to over 24,000 inhabitants from diverse cultural backgrounds. Oniipa was formerly a Finnish Missionary Station established by the Finnish Missionary Society in 1872.

To be the modest and pioneer town of preference to live, work, learn, play and invest in Namibia.
Our Mandate
To ensure the provision of municipal services to both its existing and prospective inhabitants, visitors and alike as provided for in Article 102(3) of Chapter 12 of the Namibian Constitution of 1990.
